Forbidden Lore is an independent archive dedicated to the strange, unexplained, unsettling, and forgotten stories that exist somewhere between folklore and reality.
The Idea
An archive for the things people cannot explain.
Every culture has stories about things that exist just beyond the edge of ordinary experience. A house nobody will enter. A figure seen beside an empty road. Footprints that appear where nothing should have walked. Lights in the sky with no obvious explanation.
Forbidden Lore was created to collect those stories in one place.
The archive explores ghost stories, haunted places, cryptids, wilderness encounters, UFO sightings, paranormal experiences, urban legends, dark folklore, psychological horror, occult stories, and disturbing encounters.
Some stories are inspired by old legends and reported encounters. Others are fictional works created in the tradition of the stories that have been passed from person to person for generations.
The goal is not to tell you what to believe.
The goal is to make you wonder.

My name is Bree, and I created Forbidden Lore.
I've always been drawn to the stories that make you stop and wonder whether there might be something more going on than we can see.
Forbidden Lore grew out of that fascination. I wanted to build a place where these stories could be collected, organized, and explored without turning everything into a sensationalized clickbait headline.
The archive is intentionally independent. There is no large media organization behind it and no newsroom deciding what is interesting enough to publish. Forbidden Lore is a personal project built around curiosity, storytelling, atmosphere, and the enduring appeal of the unexplained.
Whether you believe in ghosts, cryptids, UFOs, paranormal encounters, or none of it at all, you're welcome here.

A Note About the Stories
Not everything in the archive is meant to be taken literally.
Forbidden Lore draws from many traditions of strange storytelling. That includes folklore, legends, historical mysteries, reported encounters, contemporary urban legends, and fictional horror.
Stories may be inspired by real places, historical events, common folklore, or entirely imagined scenarios. When a story is fictional or presented as a work of storytelling, it should be understood in that context.
The line between folklore and reality has always been part of what makes these stories interesting. Forbidden Lore embraces that uncertainty while keeping the emphasis on atmosphere, curiosity, and good storytelling.
